Developer East Thames has planning permission for 59 homes in Walthamstow, phase four of its Papermill Place scheme on Sutherland Road.
The latest plans for the £1.6 million project funded by the mayor of London include 43 properties available for shared ownership and 16 which are being marketed for affordable rent. A doctor’s surgery is also part of the proposal.
Development started in 2008 and has since provided 323 homes. Levitt Bernstein is the architect for the project and completion is expected in February 2017.
East Thames has several other schemes in the borough. In late 2014, planning permission was granted to build 21 homes on the site of Wood Street Library’s car park in Walthamstow. This includes 12 shared ownership homes, seven one-bedroom properties and two wheelchair-accessible homes as part of a supported living scheme. Completion is expected in summer 2016.
The developer is also redeveloping a package of garage sites across the borough. The latest plans, phase two of the project, will provide 35 homes across 11 sites.
It also has two developments in Chingford. Mayfield was launched by East Thames in February 2015 and is a mixed development of six shared ownership properties, one home available for rent and eight other homes that will form part of a supported living scheme.
Verdon Roe Court offers 45 self-contained apartments for adults with support needs, who suffer from illnesses such as dementia, learning and physical disabilities. It launched in summer 2015.
