Almost 1,000 people attended the launch of a new community venture in Walthamstow.
Gnome House features a printmaking studio and an area to be used for performances, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions and meetings, which are available for hire.
A community interest company is running the venture with volunteers who live and work in and around Blackhorse Lane. Its vision is to “transform the local community by offering high quality cultural programming that is accessible, relevant and engaging”.
The launch featured activities such as dance workshops, performances, African drumming, bands, t-shirt making, afternoon tea and a bar with locally-brewed craft beer.
The venue also was used for exhibition space at E17 arts trail.
