A road scheme to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists in Waltham Forest was commended by judges at yesterday's New London Awards (organised by New London Architecture), which recognises architectural excellence across the city.

The £30 million, 13-part project features 22km of segregated and semi-segregated cycle lanes, pedestrianised routes and timed road closures, the launch of a zero emissions delivery service, and the planting of thousands of trees and plants in new pocket parks and planter beds.
