Connectivity

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is located in north-east London and has excellent connections to central London - with underground journeys from Walthamstow Central and Blackhorse Road on the Victoria line taking less than 20 minutes, via the Central line from Leyton and Leytonstone and the London Overground from Chingford.

By road, the borough provides easy access to the M11 and the London Stansted Cambridge Corridor and the M25, which encircles Greater London.

For international travel, Stansted Airport is accessible from Tottenham Hale just across the borough boundary to the west.

Elsewhere, Lea Bridge station reopened in 2016 after being closed for 31 years, opening up transport possibilities for hundreds of thousands of passengers. An £18 million total investment in Leyton tube station (including £9 million from Waltham Forest Council) and the opportunity to redevelop the transport hub around Walthamstow Central are further projects in the pipeline to further increase the borough's connectivity options. There is also a new station planned for Ruckolt Road.
