Investment opportunities showcased at summit

Waltham Forest’s Investors’ Summit in central London on 24 January stimulated discussions on future priorities for the borough, as the Council seeks to build on being the first ever London Borough of Culture in 2019.

A select group of more than 50 of the Council's development partners came to New London Architecture's The Building Centre to hear about opportunities for future involvement in a significant and ambitious investment plan for the coming months and years.

Keynote speakers from Legal & General and Countryside drew on their experiences of working with the Council and demonstrated successful delivery across the borough through a range of regeneration projects. This was followed by a lively panel discussion on how the Council and its partners can continue to deliver for Waltham Forest in partnership.

The Council presented its future delivery programme, which looks to build on the success in providing homes, jobs, infrastructure and cultural facilities for local residents - and introduced the new Economic Growth team, which draws on a significant amount of industry knowledge, experience and know-how.

Guest speaking spots included:

  • Dan Batterton at Legal & General
  • Robert Wilkinson at Countryside
  • Sara Deakin at BlackRock
  • Greg Hill at Hill Group
  • Tricia Patel at Pollard Thomas Edwards
  • James Silverthorne at Taylor Wimpey
