Feature 17 homes “POP” up

Thirty-seven council homes have been launched in Walthamstow as part of the Feature 17 development in Marlowe Road.

The estate regeneration project will eventually comprise 436 properties delivered in five phases –and the POP Feature 17 homes are the latest for sale at the estate, north of Wood Street station. The first phase of homes launched in December 2018 – POP is phase 1B of the scheme, scheduled for completion in Spring 2020.

The development will include 150 council homes for social rent when complete. New community and commercial space is also being delivered, such as a 90sq m store, owned by Waltham Forest Council and let to the Co-Op Stores. This has been built adjacent to the proposed public plaza and play area which will be created in phase two of the development, by the end of 2019.

Councillor Clare Coghill, Leader of Waltham Forest Council, said: “When this development is complete it will enhance the Wood Street area significantly. Waltham Forest is proud to have the highest affordable housing provision in London with 47% of our new homes built in the last three years being affordable.
