Inclusive Growth Summit

We’re inviting business leaders and investors for our Inclusive Growth Summit on Wednesday 5 February, from 8:30am to 12:30pm at The Forest Cinema, 267 High Street, Walthamstow, E17 7FD. 

The summit will feature a range of voices from different professional and social backgrounds and address how we celebrate town centres and local destinations as areas for inclusive growth, innovation and research and opportunities for growth in the borough. The borough is bursting with energy and opportunity. 

Attendees will meet Cllr Grace Williams, Leader of Waltham Forest Council, Cllr Ahsan Khan, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet member for Housing and Regeneration and hear from keynote speakers and insightful panels about our ambitious plans for delivering an inclusive economy and how we’re achieving transformational change in the borough. 

Key speakers include:

  • Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development
  • Cllr Ahsan Khan, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration

  • Dan Tomlinson, MP for Chipping Barnet, Labour’s champion for growth and advocate for the highest sustained growth in the G7

9.10am: Keynote speech and welcome from Forest Cinemas. 

9.30am: Panel discussion 1 - Town Centre and growth areas place based inclusive growth - strengthening our foundations. 

10am: Panel discussion 2 - Productivity, innovation and exemplary design at Whipps Cross - enhancing healthcare and quality of life for all. 

10.30am: Panel discussion 3 - Opportunities for mission-based working - a stronger, fairer economy. 

11am: Market shaping, stronger partnerships and investment opportunities - and thank you. 

11.30am: Walthamstow Town Centre tour and closing speech by Cllr Grace Williams, Leader of the Council.

12.30pm: Tour ends.
